Santa Fe is a town founded in 1800 and situated in Los Angeles County in southern California at 33.93 degrees north from the equator and 118.06 degrees west from the prime meridian (33.937443, -118.067155). Its name means "Holy Faith" and it was inspired from the name of the company Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway. Santa Fe Springs is a member of the Gateway Cities Council of Governments.

Santa Fe Springs hosts 3000 businesses and has a multitude of services in hand to the residential and business societies. This town has a very powerful industry because 90% of its surface is allocated for commercial and industrial use. Most of the population is Hispanic or Latino (71,38% of the population).

The 17 500 residents and 95 000 business residents benefit from Santa Fe's 100 acres of relaxation places, 19 park sites and miles of forests and parkways. Santa Fe is home to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm and known for its beaches.

The main historical attractions in Santa Fe are The Clarke Estate, a landmark designed by architect Irving Gill; the Hathaway Ranch Museum that holds equipment for oil-drilling, farming and ranching from the 19th to the mid-20th centuries; Heritage Park a pleasant 6 acre rebuilt ranch from the 1800s where people come to relax or see the 80 ton locomotive (exhibited in the museum of The Carriage Barn). The restored no. 870 locomotive symbolizes the importance of the railroads in the Southern California region.
